In XStreamPOS the system recognizes items that are marked as lot items. When the lot items are received as part of a transfer-in the system will prompt to identify to which lot(s) they belong. If the lot is also associated with expiry, the first time that lot number is created an expiry date will also be associated with it.

At the time of sale, the cashier will be prompted to select the lot number from a list. A lot may be associated with an expiry date, in which case items past their expiry date will not be allowed to sell at POS. This feature is especially important for the food and pharmacy retail segments. The system will keep track of the lot item, tab all items received by lot, and how many are sold or transferred out and how many are left by lot number (i.e. lot tracking). This will also be available as a report.
